Incase you'll like to know how did the RCW became about. Here is how.

Got the bike stock and Loved it at the track (I actually got the bike for street duty but with a full second faster stock then my Modified CBR, Hell, why not)

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC08330.jpg

so improvements could be done to the equipment to make it even better.

First things first, make it lighter; Stock trim was removed and raceglass followed.
Harness was trimmed and the conventional OEM coil system was removed and replaced with new stile in coil wires

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/032408036.jpg

Took the bike to Florida in January to test and got even better and more comfortable on it.

Wrapped the headers and cut the TwoBros slip on to 12 inches each.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC09757.jpg

When I got back to NYC it was time to make it even lighter so removed the rear section of the subframe.

Relocated the battery with a custom made battery box and replaced it with a smaller and lighter battery.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC06985.jpg

Added a set of the Carrozzeria wheels, rotors. A custom relocator was made to fit my bike (I mean, come on, I am a distributor of Carrozzeria)

And more testing of the equipment was done.

Front brakes got upgraded with some radial mounted Brembo calipers as well as custom made superbike lines and a Master cylinder. The clutch lever was replaced for a much shorter and more comfortable (for me it is)

Once back and doing the routine after trackday maintenance I saw a crashed CBR600RR tail on my bench and got busy with it…(I wonder if I can fit this here)

Sweet, it looks like it does, but now what do I do for undertail?
Easy, aluminum sheet, mold cardboard and cut to fit, have yourself an aluminum undertail to mount electronics on to.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC07838.jpg

So now that I know it fits, I ordered the race tail.

At the same time, Carrozzeria released a new lighter wheel set for race trim only. Once they were done taking pictures of the first set of wheels, they were shipped to me so I got to fit those too.

I decided to get a set of the GP cans so I ordered a set of slip on mid pipes from Akro to meet up to the new pipes from the OEM headers. One came (left), the right side was backordered.

With the help of some members of the Speedzilla family I got a set of Harris rearsets that I’ve been looking and waiting for.

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC09308.jpg

Then one day, while looking at the bike next to a CBR1000RR at the shop, I noticed that the plastics seam like they could fit so when I got home that night I took a picture of my old bike’s bodywork and pasted it over the picture of my bike without plastics and for my surprise it felt right on; but that’s a picture, I couldn’t wait to back to the shop the next day to try it.

My plan was to meet the OEM upper with the CBR1000RR lowers and bellypan. Removed the radiators and made some HRC style once our of foam to be sure that there was going to be clearance between them and the new bodywork

But first, I needed to remove those passenger peg tabs to get a cleaner look and a higher pipe without having to get the typical “S” like bent on the pipes. Remove the tabs, drilled the subframe and installed inserts to mount OEM style aftermarket pipe hangers.

Now to the fun stuff, Radiators

Got a radiator from a CBR600RR and got to work on it because I notice that the HRC kit is straight on the one that stands up on the left and my bodywork now has a curve to it, so that looked like it could work but how would I know if I don’t make it fit…so, let’s make it fit!

But once I installed the upper I noticed that the upper hose with the radiator cap was too high up and was holding the bodywork. So, either I cut the pipe and have it welded directly on to the radiator side instead of the top or I could cut the bodywork and have the radiator cap sticking out….Hmmm, I kind of like the cap sticking out :)

Bolt it all up and took it for a test ride around the block

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC00792.jpg

The pipes got too close to the lowers and the Carrozzeria sticker got it bad

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/metalscorpio/RC51/DSC00785.jpg

So new spacers to keep the pipe away were created and attached to the pipe

When do you find the time to sleep? Before I had kids I used to have the time to do such wonderful projects.

Sleep? what for? sleep is what got me the idea for it...i woke up from that vision and got busy!

over 60 lbs lost in one winter ;)
