I just wantched a show on cable about electric motorcycles. How cool. This guy has developed an electric dirt bike and is working on an electric sportbike. Does anyone know about these things? I want one. If they are a light weight as they say and have the power they are going to be really fast and handle great.

Motorcyclist magazine oct 09 is all about electric bikes. Looks likes batteries seem to be the main downfall of electric bikes, but Motoczysz claim they've developed there own which fixed the problem

That will be very interesting. I would like to build an electric bike and take it our on the racetrack. I saw a show about drag racers with an electric bike and it was unbelievable. It went as fast as the gas bikes.

they had a "electric" motorcycle class for the Isle of Man TT this year. Crazy stuff......the track workers had to put on special gloves in case they had to remove a bike from course, so as to not get electricuted. They all had to have these big red emergency stop buttons to pass tech.

Electric cars take something like 8 hours to charge for about 2 hour of run time if you're not pushing it to hard. So you better build a few

I guess you would have to bring a lot of extra batteries. But still, I long for the day of more lightweight bikes. My TZ250 was 220 lbs. fully loaded and went like a bat out of hell.

I don't think your CBR weighs 420 lbs. If it does you need to shed some parts.
